My Blue Eyed Boy
Madden took a spill head first off his changing table so we took a trip to Childrens Hospital. It was way too traumatic for pictures and warrants more of a description than my stomach can handle at the moment. As you can see from these pictures, taken the next day, he's just fine. I think Dean and I are more scarred than he is. Big thanks to our dear friend Mark Morell for coming so quickly to help Dean give our little man a blessing!

Please notice the darling little tooth on bottom. Madden's first. He cut it on March 1st, the day he turned 9 months. Better late than never!

Viva Las Vegas
I did it - I survived my first few days away from my child. I almost didn't go because I was so nervous to leave him - nervous for me not him! But I did it - I missed him terribly but it went ok!
Once again the ladies met in Vegas and man was it fun! We had pedicures, ate at yummy restaurants, SLEPT IN, stayed up WAY TOO late, went shopping, laughed our guts out, saw a movie and just generally had a great time. Thanks to Lindsay for letting us stay at their beautiful vacation home and thanks to all the girls for making the trip and making more great memories! Oh - and thanks to Sara for keeping me company on my run! Also, thanks to Sara for sending me this picture! And special thanks to my AWESOME husband who was daddy and mommy all weekend! Lots of male bonding going on at the Rubsamen house that weekend! LOVE to all my ladies!!!

Then we picked up his brothers and we celebrated with pizza and all had a cheers to Madden - 4 cokes and a bottle of formula - hope nobody thought we were weird - oh well, we dont really care! Happy 8 month birthday son!

New Years!!!
This year for our New Years celebrations my sister Michelle her daughter Emily, her other daughter Jenni (Jenni's husband Austin and son Lucas), her other daughter Megan (her soon to be fiance Michael - whom we just love) came to visit and celebrate with us! We had a great time! We watched football, played games, Dean cooked and cooked and cooked, the boys had a New Years Day football game of their own, we shopped and went running! It was so great to have them - I think I will officially instate a new family tradition - New Years at the Rubsamens!!! What do ya think?
And to my eternal sadness because of my broken camera situation at that moment I only got one picture with my camera phone. Here it is. Love you Emily!!! Fire Cheetos and Lucky Charms forever!!!

Madden's Tricked Out Ride
For Christmas I got a jog stroller. Its what I wanted and its very nice. True to Dean's form her buys all the necessary assesories to make sure Madden and I are as safe and comfortable as possible. Thats why I call it "Madden's tricked out ride". However, what you can't see is the weather guard, the flashing strobe light (in case we are running as dawn or dusk) the drink holders, the zipper holder for keys, cell phone etc. Madden loves to going running now and just chills and watches the world go by. Sometimes he even falls asleep - wonder of wonders! My Dad wanted to see Madden in it - so these pictures are for you Dad! Love you!!!
Toys and pacifier attached! Thanks Daddy!
Please notice the lambs wool cushion padding Madden is sitting on. Looks so comfy sometimes I wanna ride!
In case you are thinking - "Couldn't they have gotten a cuter color", well, no, you see bright yellow is the SAFEST color to get!
Please notice the weather guard poking out the bottom of the stroller.

Here we are again - The 30th of the month
Oh seriously can he really be 7 months old already? Holy moly! I can't believe it! He sits up like a champ, he roles and roles and roles, has started figuring out how to get his knees underneath him to crawl. He loves his daddy and launches into his arms at any chance, he says ahhhBA, aahhhMA and aahhhhDA, and many other sounds that sound like they are supposed to be words! He is the smiliest happiest baby - this makes me feel very lucky! He does Paddy Cake, So Big and freely gives kisses and head buts. He LOVES his excesaucer and his new favorite toy is the walker Santa brought him for Christmas. He buzzes around the house - reminds me of that commercial a few years ago when the baby is zooming around the house to really fast music! He loves it. He would rather stand and try to walk than crawl - but we're working on the crawl because we know how important that is for brain development. Basically he is all our dreams and wishes wrapped up one chubby happy package!
TECHNICAL DIFFICULTY ALERT - And I took the most hilarious pictures of Madden today then dropped my camera and its not working - standby for pictures

William Rocks!
Tonight William changed Madden's (poopie) diaper, made his dinner, fed him his dinner and then got him ready for bed. Thanks William - seriously you rock! Whoever gets to marry you is one lucky girl! I love you William and so does your baby brother!
Dontcha just love that smile - nothin camera shy about this kid!
I Love Our Stockings!
I don't know exactly why but I love to look at our mantle and see our Christmas stockings - I just love it! Again, not sure why but it warms my heart and makes me smile! I love to see all our names and the addition of Madden to the mantle this year. Anyway - just wanted to share!
"Christmas in the Culdesac"
Last night my cute friend Angie and some of her neighbors had a party in their culdesac. It was so fun! They had a bon fire (so we came home smelling like we'd been camping for a month) hot chocolate and a big huge screen showing all the old classic Christmas movies like, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman etc. We walked around and talked to friends and William and Preton had a great time hanging out with all the cute girls from school. The only one who didnt have such a great time was Madden - he couldn't figure out why I was letting his face get so cold. Angie took him inside and put gloves on his hands - he was much happier. And, lest all you think it doesn't get cold here in Texas - these pictures will prove you wrong. We were freezing but it was fun! THANKS ANG!!!
Cute Madison - I think Madden thinks she is his girlfriend! At least he's got good taste!
Look at those poor red cheeks!

Sicely and JT
And, while I was home my good friend Sicely had her baby "JT" a few days before the twins were born. Welcome to the world JT! Look at all that hair! He is so darn cute!
Madden and Scarlet
We took Madden a few weeks ago to meet Santa and sit on his lap. Some good friends of ours met us there and then we had lunch. I love to catch up and have lunch with friends - it seems to be one of my favorite passtimes lately. Their daughter Scarlet is just s few weeks younger than Madden and it was the first time they got to play together. She's a cutie! And, don't ya just love her name!

TWILIGHT & Happy Birthday Mindy
Another fun thing I got to do while home was pull an "all nighter" with Jen, Mindy and Andrea. We had a late dinner to celebrate Mindy's birthday and then went to the midnight showing of Twilight. It was very fun but I was hurtin the next day. I know I always say this but, again - I love these ladies and am so grateful to have such amazing women in my life. I have known Andrea since we were six and Jen and Mindy since we were 14. How lucky am I?!!!!

Thanksgiving 2008 - Madden's First
Dean and my sister Tara made and awesome meal! Its was truly the best ever! Madden slept through dinner but oh well, there will be many more years of feasts he will get to enjoy! It was a small crowd at my Moms house just me, Dean, Madden, Tara, Mike, Gavin, Brynn and Berkan. Then we made several plates of all the food and took it up to the hospital for my Mom and Dad to enjoy. We took Madden up to the hospital to say goodbye to Grandpa as we had to leave the next day.

Dean's Friend Rick
Dean has a good friend named Rick from college. They lost touch about ten years ago. Dean decided to contact Rick before he came to Utah in November. He finally tracked him down and belive it or not Rick and his darling wife Denise had relocated to Park City, Utah. Can you stand it? Small world. So when Dean came in town we were able to hang out with them a few times. It was so fun for me to meet Rick as I have heard all about their college escapades. Yes, my husband has "escapades" for all of you who don't believe that. I also love to meet friends from Dean's past as they share so many good memories. Hopefully we will get to spend many years of skiing in Park City together.
Grace and Gavin
In an earlier post I announced the arrival of Krista's twins. I was so grateful to be there the day they were born. As promised here are some more pictures.
This is the night before the babies were born - I was really hoping that my child sitting on her tummy was not the reason her water broke!

Amy and Mikes Wedding Festivities!
The night before the big event Mike hosted a Fiesta - It was a great way to kick of the next two days of parties! I got to catch up with my good friend Karen - who now lives with her husband and three darling children on the East Coast. Too far away! It was so great to spend some time with her and she better get her bootie to Texas soon so we can spend more time together! And then the wedding. It was an amazing ceremony in the Salt Lake Temple. Dean flew out and it was extra special for me to sit with my husband in the same sealing room we were sealed in just three years earlier. Amy and Mike are an amazing couple. I'm so grateful to have friends like Amy and now Mike. I can't wait to see all the incredible things they will accomplish as a couple! Love you guys! Enjoy the pics!

Amy's Birthday Party
So November has always really been about Amy but this year to a much greater extent! I loved all these excuses to be with my friends! Happy Birthday AIMO!!! I love you!

Lucky Madden, he got to come to the party this year and his sweet Auntie Holly loved him for a while! He has a great life!
